On 6 October 2026 the National Medical Commission issued the Guidelines on Ethical Advertising and Public Communication for hospitals, medical institutions and registered medical practitioners. They took effect immediately.
Advertising is defined broadly. Any communication that promotes a doctor's or hospital's services, skills, reputation or facilities counts, whether it sits on a website, a blog, Instagram, WhatsApp, a search ad or an AI generated post.
A quick reference for your website, blogs and social media pages.
The phrases our scanner flags most often on hospital and doctor websites, with wording that keeps the meaning without breaking the rules.
Content made by agencies, influencers or AI tools on a doctor's or hospital's behalf is covered too. AI generated promotional campaigns are prohibited, and compliant AI assisted content should carry a clear AI note.

Hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres and other clinical establishments, under the applicable Clinical Establishments Act.

Every registered medical practitioner on the National or a State Medical Register, including content posted for them.

Dental, eye, IVF and other specialty practices, plus listing platforms, which may not run paid doctor rankings.
Action against doctors escalates with every breach. Doctors who approved the content can be examined separately from the hospital.
Paste a draft, pick the content type and select Score this page. An example with common mistakes is loaded so you can see how it works.
The check runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent to or stored by Healthcare DMS.
Automatic rewrites for wording and style. Testimonials, offers, success rates and missing facts still need a human edit.
Points software cannot verify. Tick each one once you have checked it.
This checker supports editorial review. It is not legal advice and does not replace the judgement of your State Medical Council. Hospitals should also follow the applicable Clinical Establishments Act or State Act.
Any critical NMC issue marks a page as not ready to publish, whatever the total score.
Superlatives, guarantees, success rates, testimonials, comparisons, offers, fear based wording and unverifiable claims.
Registration number and recognised qualifications next to every named doctor, plus consistent details.
Page titles, meta descriptions, one clear H1, image alt text and enough helpful content on each page.
Calm, patient friendly language without exclamation marks, hype or generic AI phrasing.
NMC Website Audit
Healthcare DMS audits every page, blog and doctor profile, rewrites non compliant wording, adds registration details and compliant calls to action, and keeps your URLs unchanged so search rankings are protected.
The NMC issued the Guidelines on Ethical Advertising and Public Communication through a public notice dated 6 October 2026, and they took effect immediately.
They apply to both. Hospitals and clinics are covered alongside individual doctors, and many prohibitions, including superlatives, inducements and fake reviews, name hospitals explicitly. Hospitals are also governed by the applicable Clinical Establishments Act.
Only where the claim is objectively verifiable through an independent, transparent method, with the ranking body, date and method disclosed. In practice most practices should remove words such as best, No.1, leading and top from their content.
No. The guidelines state that consent does not make a prohibited practice acceptable. Testimonials, promotional patient stories and before and after images remain prohibited in advertising.
Yes. Posts on electronic media should show the doctor's name, qualifications, registration status and NMR or SMR registration number. Hospital posts should show these details for the doctors involved.
Yes. Educational and awareness content is permitted as long as it does not solicit patients, promote a personal practice in an exaggerated way or include prohibited claims. A calm call to action and factual service details are acceptable.
The website scan reads only the public pages of the address you enter and does not store their content. The draft checker runs in your browser and does not send or save the text you paste.
No. The score is an editorial aid based on the published guidelines. Final responsibility rests with the doctor or hospital, and the State Medical Council or relevant authority decides individual cases.
